It's been a few days but here is the latest update on Spuds World Headquarters. The water and gas are in. The faucets work. The water heater works. The sink holds water.
Now, how did we get this far with our limited mastery of plumbing? We paid someone to do it, that's how. Actually, only part of it was store bought. The rest I did with my very own 10 thumbs......I mean hands. And it leaked. And leaked. And leaked some more. I cussed, swore, and cussed some more. Educated Gayle in more words than one.
I found that when you rent a tool, have the rental folks show you how to properly operate it no matter how simple it looks. The offending tool in qustion here is a crimping tool for pex pipe....look it up. it's a bugger to operate under a counter, with pipes running about, a 40 gallon tank taking up valuable real estate, and fat feller trying to get a job done. Under those circumstances, leaks are bound to happen.
Gayle made ol Yosemite (I don't know why they call me this), stop, get proper operating instruction and start over.
It worked! The Health dept will be out next week for a final sign off.
Tomorrow, we will be cooking up 30 pounds of brisket and 20 or so pounds of pork butt. May even fire off some ribs and chicken. we'll call it practice for next weeks BBQ Championship. Having taken 2 1/2 Reserve Grand Championships, we are ready for a Grand Champion trophy. And the money that goes with it. Hope it works out.
